Heating Coil Replacement and Airflow Repairs for a Commercial Building
Envirotech Maintenance Services carried out remedial works to an air handling unit serving a commercial building in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Following inspection of the AHU, a number of components required replacement to restore the unit and improve its ongoing reliability.
The works included replacing the existing heating coil, fitting new air filters and replacing the airflow switches within the air handling unit.
As the original heating coil required a replacement to suit the existing AHU, we worked with a local specialist manufacturer who produced a new coil to the required dimensions and specification. This allowed the existing air handling unit to be retained rather than replacing the complete system.
Once the new coil had been manufactured, our engineers removed the existing component and installed the replacement, along with new filters and airflow switches.
The system was then checked and returned to operation.

Commercial air handling units can remain in service for many years, but individual components such as heating coils, filters, fans, controls and airflow switches will eventually require attention.
Where practical, Envirotech aims to repair and refurbish existing equipment rather than recommending complete replacement unnecessarily.
For this Newcastle project, having a replacement heating coil manufactured specifically for the existing AHU provided a practical solution while extending the useful life of the system.
